Looks like the legacy of Pop Smoke continues.  A month short of the one year anniversary of his death, a new movie trailer has been released featuring the late rapper.  The movie is titled, Boogie, and the rapper was clearly cast and got to complete the role before his death last February. The Boogie movie hits theaters in March.

The accomplishment of having this role in the Boogie movie is huge for a new artist who hadn’t even released his debut album at the time of his passing.  It’s a shocking look at his potential to be a huge star in this industry and potentially a household name.

The film is written and directed by Eddie Huang, author, chef, restaurateur, food personality, producer, and attorney. He co-owns BaoHaus, a gua bao restaurant in the East Village of Lower Manhattan. His book was the inspiration for the ABC series, ‘Fresh Off The Boat‘.

The Boogie movie stars Taylor Takahashi, Taylour Paige and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. Pop Smoke aka Bashar Jackson, plays a rival to the main character, in both athletics and the streets. The movie is scheduled to be released on March 5, 2021, by Focus Features.

The first song from the movie has also been released.  A new song from Pop Smoke titled, “AP”.  Listen to the track below:
