Dave East as Method Man In Wu-Tang: An American Saga

Dave East is an American rapper, songwriter and actor hailing from Harlem, New York. He started his rap journey in 2010 releasing his first mixtape change of plans. This began pushing him into the spotlight. He then went on to release mixtapes such as American Kairi Chanel, Karma, and Paranoia: A True Story. While Dave East has devoted time to building a credential music resume, he’s also devoted time to building his acting resume.

The rapper and songwriter has appeared in shows such as Being Mary Jane, and The Breaks. He is now set for a reoccurring role on Wu-Tang: An American Saga as Shotgun/Method Man. The series premiered their first episode on September 4, 2019 on Hulu.

Created by RZA, the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan and Alex Tse, an American Screenwriter. The ten episode show will be based on New York in the 1990s. It will also take place during the crack cocaine epidemic showing viewers how the Wu-Tang Clan came together. They are torn between crime and music but eventually rise to become one of the greatest American musical groups.

Deadline describes Method Man’s character as “Tall, with a knack for rhymes, Shotgun takes pride in being the assistant manager at the concession stand next to the Statue of Liberty. A popular figure in Staten Island, he stays above the turf wars.” Seeing East’s previous success with his acting gigs we can hope to receive nothing less than greatness this time around.
