It’s easy for people to roll their eyes and introduce a different topic when someone says that they make a living working as a disk jockey. After all, anyone who doesn’t have a decent job calls themselves a DJ these days. If you are one of the people that have dismissed the DJ occupation as a joke, you have never heard about these five DJs whose net worth sits in the millions.

We took some time to look at the top-earning DJs in 2019 so that we can see what makes them tick. To get an idea of the amount each of the DJs is worth this year, we looked at CelebrityNetworth.com.

Calvin Harris

Having a net worth of $190 million at the age of 35 and working as a DJ is impressive. Finding information about Adam Richard Wiles, whose professional name is Calving Harris, was quite easy because he has his own website. Many aspiring DJ’s often overlook the importance of their own site even though they can easily use a free DJ website builder to create one.

Born in Scotland in 1984, Harris has gone on to achieve impressive feats. The DJ collaborated with Rihanna for the song “We Found Love” launching his career into the stars. One of his most significant achievements is that he was the first artist to have three songs on the Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Songs charts at the same time.

DJ Tiësto

His full name is Tijs Michiel Verwest. Tiesto is a Dutch DJ whose estimated net worth is $160 million. It’s not surprising that DJ Tiësto has made so much money if one considers that he has been named “the Greatest DJ of All Time” by the fans of Mix Magazine. He was also named “Best DJ of the last 20 years” by the readers of the DJ Magazine.

DJ Tiesto has the honor of being called the first DJ who played live to an Olympics audience. In his home country, the Netherlands, he hosts a radio show going by the name, Tiësto’s Club Life that airs on Radio 538.

Swedish House Mafia

Since the group Swedish House Mafia launched in 2008, it has accumulated an estimated $100 million in earnings. The group, consisting of Axwell Angello, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso, was voted number 10 by the readers of the DJ Magazine in 2011. After announcing a split in 2012, the group reunited in 2018 and played together at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival in 2018.

Together with the likes of Tiësto, Calving Harris, and Carl Cox, the Swedish House Mafia is said to have been a significant force that helped house music conquer America in the 2000s. In 2013, the group threw the Black Tie Rave in New York City to raise funds for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Avicii

With a net worth of $85 million, you would expect that the Swedish DJ Avicii had everything he needs. Apparently, this was not the case as he took his own life on April 2018 at the age of 28. The DJ, whose full name is Tim Bergling, started posting his music on electronic music forums when he was only 16. His single, “Levels” catapulted him to prominence in 2011.

In 2016, after suffering from stress and mental health issues, Avicii retired from touring. He was laid to rest in his hometown of Stockholm. In 2019, his Album “Tim” was released posthumously.

David Guetta

David Guetta’s net worth is estimated to be $75 million. This is not an unexpected amount if you consider that Guetta has sold more than 30 million singles and nine million albums across the world since launching his career. Add this to the fact that he was voted the number one DJ in a 2011 poll of the DJ Mag Top 100. His single, “When Love Takes Over” was named the number one dance-pop collaboration of all time.

Even though Guetta released his first album in 2002, he would achieve mainstream success with his “One Love” album released in 2009. Guetta married the night club manager Cathy Lobé in 2002. He has two children.
