Jazzy Amra is an R&B/Soul vocalist who has been hot on the scene since the release of her debut single “You Got Me,” featuring Wyclef Jean and Riley. The 22 year old from Kingsbridge, Bronx made her televised debut in June on TRL.

Amra collaborated with rapper Dave East on his singles “Slow Down” and “Make it Out.” Wyclef Jean later discovered her and featured her on his album Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of A Refugee. Jean saw the potential in Jazzy Amra from the beginning. He decided to put her under intense artist development for 4 years, until she graduated from college.

Amra has been recognized on Vibe, The Source, Mass Appeal, and Hello Beautiful. She has already amassed over 1 million YouTube views on her music video, and over 300k streams on Spotify. Jazzy Amra has already made the cut for first round Grammy Nominations!

When asked by The Source about what artists she looked up to musically, she replied:

“Growing up I loved Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, Toni Braxton, Mya, R.Kelly, 112, the whole Bad Boy family, Boyz II Men, Usher, The Fugees, the list goes on and on. I was adopted by my aunt at the age of 5 and her son, Andy would always blast music around the house and those were the artists he would play.”

Jazzy Amra is definitely a force to look out for in the upcoming months. She is currently on tour with Wyclef Jean for his Carnival III album. She is set to release an R&B mixtape some time this fall, so be on the lookout for that!
