As promised, Nas has released his new album, a seven song project produced entirely by Kanye West. The album title, was revealed hours before the album’s release, simply, Nasir.

Fans have eagerly anticipated a Nas album for the last couple of years.  The rapper even jumped on a DJ Khaled track a couple years ago to announce, “Nas Album Done”, only to keep fans waiting a lot longer.  His last album, Life Is Good was released back in 2012.

This clearly isn’t the album Nas was talking about when he said his album was done, but fans are happy for new music from the rapper nonetheless. Nas allowing his fans to get a glimpse of what he has in store for future projects. It will let him gain more support from the anticipation that is building up.

Earlier in the week of June 14th, 2018, Kanye revealed the tracklist for the project.

Also On Thursday, Nas revealed the cover art for the project with a post on Twitter featuring the caption:  The Kids Are Our Future. NASIR out everywhere tomorrow! Executive Produced by @kanyewest

The album cover image was captured by photojournalist Mary Ellen Mark, as part of a 1988 feature called The War Zone by reporter Jim Atkinson. The story explored the disadvantaged neighborhood of South Dallas, where drugs, violence, and poverty were a part of everyday life.

Nas and Kanye West had an album release party/listening party in Queens on June 14th, 2018, the day before the album release. Which is a interesting and fun way to celebrate an album release.
