When I was younger, living in the city of Orlando, Florida, I remember hearing the grim and deep voice of Scarface rapping about his block. The song, called On My Block, was a celebration of how Scarface’s neighborhood was a helping hand in his success, yet their was another small factor in the success of Scarface in Hip Hop. The small factor, a man, named J Prince. Read for more information about the J Prince new book.

J Prince, the founder of independent rap label Rap-A-Lot, has formed himself to be a giant in the Hip Hop culture. Equipped with an entrepreneur mindset, and aligning himself with the right people, Prince has been running the rap game for decades. Now he is extending his media reach to people by releasing a book.

With the help of his co-author, Jasmine D. Waters, known for her writing on NBC’s This Is Us, J. Prince’s new book, titled The Art & Science of Respect: A Memoir by James Prince, tells the story of the mogul’s life and success. Prince reveals personal stories and shares his own principles that kept him on top in Hip-Hop and help keep him relevant until this day. The official release of the book is July 6, after being pushed back from its original release date, June 22.

In his memoir, J Prince is sharing to people an in-depth look on how respect helped in building his empire from the streets and what made him go pursue legal money. The book also adds more details on his other ventures: boxing promoter and a landowner. Lets not forget Drake, who is family by faith to J. Prince, writing the forward to this book.

The Art & Science of Respect, of course, includes compelling stories scattered throughout. For example, it details the day J Prince’s sister was struck by a train in 1976. This accident caused him to lose a sister as well as getting a better understanding of life.

The physical copy of the J Prince new book is available for pre-order now.
