It seems like the reports made by Billboards websites saying that Jimmy Iovine was leaving Apple was all a lie. Jimmy Iovine Shut Down Rumors of Leaving Apple after being frustrated with the idea. Billboard staff wrote an article claiming that Iovine was leaving the company to enjoy his Apple investments.

The former Interscope Executive says he is not going anywhere. During a Q&A at the Grammy Museum, the Apple Music empolyee said he has no plans to leave after the last of his shares from the sale of Beats Electronics to Apple will vest in August, which was reported by Variety.

“The bottom line is I’m loyal to the guys at Apple. I love Apple, and I really love musicians. That’s why those articles annoyed me, because it had nothing to do with reality. It made it out to be all about money…We need Donald Trump here to call it ‘fake news,” Iovine said, according to Variety.

Iovine, 65,continues saying, “The next chapter, whatever intensity I’m working, will be to help streaming come to scale.” Iovine help explode Apple Music’s growth to more than 30 million paid subscribers in almost three years, as contrast to Spotify, which has been around for longer and claims more than 70 million subscribers.

Iovine was the mastermind who founded the record label, Interscope, that gave you albums from Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar. In 2008, Iovine and Dr. Dre started the consumer electronics company Beats by Dre, selling headphones. The duo expanded the brand by buying struggling music streaming service MOG in 2012 and turning that into a the subscription-based Beats Music before selling to Apple.

The defiant one may not have to much longer left before he does not want to run around doing music but he plans on getting Apple in the right pocket with streaming.
