The southern scene in Hip-Hop may not be buzzing like it has in recent years, but that does not mean the artists are not out there putting in work. Lamar Llens is one of those artists.

The Arkansas native started generating buzz with his single “Facts”, which dropped earlier this year. On this track, Lamar Llens lets us all know exactly what he is about over a slow bass-driven beat that has Pine Bluff, whom he gives a shout out to at the end, written all over it. Check out “Facts”:

Lamar Llens is back at again with some serious heat via his latest, “1 Time”. It’s a classic southern joint: a slow bass-heavy track, with well placed, lyrical one-liners, and a catchy hook. Pair all of this with Llens’ drawl, which is a mixture of Arkansas and Dallas and you have a radio friendly record worthy of heavy rotation.

Lamar Llens signed to indie label Soundlive in 2016 and has shared stages with the likes of Ludacris, Torey Lanez, Scarface and Jeezy. Llens has also collaborated with B.I.G. Krit, who still has us all anxiously waiting on his album. Llens has made smart connections and garnered the approval of Hip-Hop legends like Andre 3000. The game, especially for a new artist, is about finding your niche while working on your craft and Lamar Llens is doing just that.
