L.A. Reid Sexual Harassment Claims Ran Him Out of Epic Records???

Last week, it was reported that longtime record executive, L.A. Reid, would be resigning from Epic Records. However, no one could figure out why a successful CEO would leave a company after only six years. Now there are reports confirming his departure and add that the reason behind his resignations is a L.A. Reid sexual harassment claim coming from a former assistant.

According to the New York Post, an anonymous co-worker complained about Reid, saying that she was a victim of sexual harassment by him on multiple occasions. The woman is an assistant, who wrote a letter to Sony Music’s General Counsel, Julie Swidler. In the letter, she explained that Reid made numerous physical advances at her, including during the label’s holiday party back in December. She even claims that during a business trip he asked her to “lie down in bed with him and give him a hug while the two were at a hotel while traveling on business.”

The letter goes on to say that Reid would make comments about the woman’s clothes and suggestions about what he would like to see her wear. On several occasions, he described her as being “fine”.  Sources are now saying that other women have made claims of L.A. Reid sexual harassment in the past.

L.A. Reid has been the CEO and chairman of Epic Records for the last six years. He is credited for signing DJ Khaled, Future, Travis Scott, and Jidenna, just to name a few. He’s previously presided over Def Jam Island Records and Arista Records, after running LA Face Records with business partner Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. He is known as one of the most successful record executives, who is responsible for the careers of many celebrated artists in the music industry

No comments have been made by Reid or Sony Music Group concerning the sexual harassment claims. There are rumors that Reid is currently talking to Warner Music Group regarding running their Warner Bros. Label.
