With Two Bet Awards Nominations, Cardi B Is Seeing Fruits From Her Hustle

Cardi B (born Belcalis Almanzar) is one of the most popular people being talked about in the media right now. At just 24 years old, the Bronx born, “Love & Hip Hop New York” reality show star is evolving into becoming a rapper and she is finding success in her first love.

Cardi got her start dancing in the strip club where she would come across many famous people, but really started becoming popular when she joined Instagram and began posting short videos talking about random topics.

Her social media personality helped her go viral as thousands of people began sharing her videos. Cardi B reached new heights when she made an appearance on season 6 and 7 of “Love & Hip Hop New York”. While we experienced her wild side with all the fighting, Cardi B has said that the person we came to know on the show, is not who she is. She will fight if she has to, but her concern is focusing on using her platforms to provide a better life for herself as well as her family.

By being on “Love & Hip Hop”, Cardi gained an even larger fan base, helping her music receive more promotion and showing that she lives what she raps about. Her first mixtape release was titled, Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1 and was released March 7, 2016. She then followed up with Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2 on January 20, 2017. Both mixtapes can be found online and received a lot of positive feedback motivating her to create more music.

Cardi B’s latest song and music video is called “Lick” and features Offset from Migos. Her talent and unstoppable grind in the industry are what continue to make her the talk of the industry and social media and the recognition continues to spill in from multiple directions.  Cardi had been featured in a number of other television shows, taking her acting talents to the next level.  And most recently she received two 2017 BET Awards nominations for her music. The nominations are for Best New Artist and Best Female Hip Hop Artist, an award Nicki Minaj has won for consecutive years.

“I don’t even care if I win these awards. The fact that I got nominated make me feel like a super winner. Thank you guys!” she wrote on twitter.

The BET nominee also tweeted, “Wow I blessed my mom last night and look at the blessing I got today… Two BET nominations. God really be watching.”
