Wyclef Reimagines “If I Was President 2016” For Current Political Climate

Legendary Hip-Hop artist, Wyclef Jean is back with another single, this time a retake on one of his oldies.  The new record for Wyclef Jean, “If I Was President 2016” is timely, as he once again looks at a presidential race, like he did on the original track, featured on his Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 album back in 2004.

The track is the second single from his upcoming J’ouvert EP to be released in November.  J’ouvert features Young Thug, and Walk The Moon among others, and the title refers to the official beginning of Carnival.  The EP is the set up for the  forthcoming full length album aptly titled Carnival III: Road To Clefication dropping next summer on the 20th anniversary of Wyclef’s critically acclaimed debut The Carnival.

The J’ouvert EP also is set to feature “Hendrix”, which was released last month.  The video is the first part of a 12-minute short film starring actors Michael K. Williams (The Wire, The Night Of), Tasha Smith (Empire) as well as newcomer, T.J. Riley, to be released soon.  Watch the “Hendrix” video below.
