Bobby Shmurda has been in prison since December 2014 on drug and weapons charges.  His trial was supposed to start on Monday October 5th, but instead of making progress towards potentially becoming free Shmurda, who’s real name is Ackquille Jean Pollard found out his trial would be pushed back until 2016.  Additionally, Shmurda’s lawyer’s request for reduced bail so that he could be home for the next four plus months was denied.

Bail was originally set for $2 million dollars for Shmurda in this case.  His application for bond in the case was denied in February of this year.  Special Narcotics Prosecutor Nigel Farinha objected to the idea of bail for the 21 year old rapper saying their case against Bobby was stronger than ever, and he was a potential flight risk.

Shmurda, along with 14 other GS9 members, were arrested last year in connection to a drug and firearm ring, public shootings and a murder of a 19-year-old rival.  Shmurda faces up to 25 years in prison for conspiracy, reckless endangerment, and gun possession.

Hopefully Pollard can stay out of trouble for the next few months.  He already is facing additional charges because his girlfriend tried to sneak him a shank while he was in prison.  Last thing he needs now is any new charges before the trial starts on February 22nd.
